Fresh design, ancient craft, contemporary art - Studio 4 Berlin creates an extraordinary living room

Together with freistil Rolf Benz, the curators of Studio 4 Berlin have designed an intercultural exhibition that takes place in the living room.

The sofa comes from the upholstered furniture label freistil Rolf Benz, founded in 2011. The environmentally friendly production of the materials used is certified with the Blue Angel. Studio 4 Berlin

Eva Morawietz, Katharina Maria Raab, Anahita Sadighi and Anne Schwarz are the four curators behind Studio 4 Berlin. They see themselves as an answer to an art market in upheaval, aiming at interfaces between different cultures, epochs and also media. They present their intercultural exhibition concepts in their showroom in Charlottenburg. From March 11, "Exhibition 5" will also be on view there, for which the interdisciplinary gallery collective staged upholstered furniture by freistil Rolf Benz.

Anahita Sadighi is part of Studio 4 Berlin. She runs two other galleries in the capital herself. The art dealer and cultural mediator has made herself comfortable here in the exhibition.

To locate a centerpiece of the living room situation is not so easy - every single detail betrays the creative eye of the gallery owners. At least a resting point for the eye is the jade green "freistil 131" sofa. Designed by Meike Harde and produced in the Black Forest, the piece's straight lines bring calm to the room, which is filled with countless works of art. Its depth and curves promise relaxation - around it, canvases by Berlin artist Anja Schwörer meet in idiosyncratic harmony with pre-Columbian ceramics and antique Persian kilims with photographs by Moroccan artist Hicham Benohoud.
