These are Germany's most beautiful hotels

The last few months have sharpened our focus: On the fact that good things are sometimes closer than we thought. We have compiled twelve of our favorite vacation destinations on our doorstep for your next trip - old classics and new treasures.

The most beautiful hotels and vacation accommodations in Germany

Mauritzhof, Münster The "Mauritzhof" on the edge of Münster's old town has been around since the 80s. However, the 52-room boutique hotel underwent a butterfly-like transformation a few years ago, with the Berlin design studio Lambs and Lions simultaneously providing the pupae and the cocoon of heavy fabrics and warm colors, double rooms from 159 euros.

Rosso, Allgäu South of the Elbe, life is not the same. That's what Lisa Rühwald and Christian Müller noticed when they set off from Hamburg two years ago "with a healthy dose of naivety in their luggage". They didn't get as far as Italy, because a farm in the Allgäu region fell in front of their feet. So they brought Italy to Bavaria: The "Rosso" has three "stays" in a large barn complete with sauna, farm store and yoga studio, starting at 180 euros.

Lindley Lindenberg, Frankfurt Herb garden, kitchen, bathroom: Whoever stays here may feel at home. In addition to a living room for guests, the "Lindley Lindenberg" has a wine bar with a summer terrace - and the "Leuchtendroter," one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the country. Double rooms from 79 euros, longer stays from 999 euros / month.

Das Kranzbach, Krün A hundred years ago, British noblewoman Mary Isabel Portman had an English country estate built in a lonely mountain valley at the foot of the Zugspitze. However, she never got to enjoy her retreat because of the turmoil of war between England and Germany. Meanwhile, Kranzbach Castle is open to guests from all over the world as an exquisite hideaway with an excellent spa and wellness area, surrounded by a 13-hectare mountain meadow. Double rooms from 189 euros.

Michelberger, Berlin Since its opening eleven years ago, the "Michelberger" on the Oberbaumbrücke has been a safe bet for friends of industrial minimalism. The rooms in a former light factory were designed by Werner Aisslinger at the time, and last year 23 new rooms were added, furnished by Jonathan Tuckey and Sigurd Larsen, double rooms from 80 euros.

Ameron Neckarvillen, Frankfurt Frankfurt is morphing from a faceless banking metropolis into a vacation destination for extended weekends. So it's only logical that old offices are transformed into stately hotels like the Ameron Neckarvillen Boutique with herringbone marble floors and Rubelli fabrics, double rooms from 119 euros.

**** Spend the next vacation in one of the thatched houses in Sylt's rightly most famous village Kampen? Apartments & more offers for over 20 years vacation in the most beautiful brick houses of the island, which carry such speaking names such as ?Hummelhüs?, ?Kliffhoog? or ?large whale? The style: rooms in light colors, beach chairs between rosehip bushes, wide views over sea and heath. In addition, the agency gives travelers everything else they could want, such as a personal trainer, fresh flowers to the house or a friendly dog sitter. Above: "Hüs No. 7", from 290 euros.

Quartier, Garmisch Partenkirchen Once upon a time, only Villa Friedheim stood here alone on a wide meadow. Around this historic core, the architectural firm Beer Bembé Dellinger created a congenial hotel building, which has already won several awards with its high lodges made of local woods, suite in the "Quartier" from 160 euros.
