When it comes to the household, it must be one thing above all: practical. The aesthetics usually falls by the wayside. But it's actually not that difficult to pay attention to pragmatics and aesthetics at the same time.

But if you look around in the stores, you will be taught better. Plastic dishwashing brushes in a supposedly ergonomic shape, cleaning cloths and sponges in eye cancer-causing neon colors, and I don't even want to start with the dishwashing liquid bottles. But fortunately there is another way. They actually exist, the things for the household, which are equally beautiful and practical. You just have to look for them a little longer, because you won't find them in the usual drugstores.

Because if you surround yourself with beautiful things, even the annoying housework is much more bearable.

Beautiful and sustainable things for the home

In addition, there is actually the much more important aspect of sustainability. Because every piece of plastic that can be avoided is a step towards a more sustainable life.

Sink brushes and brooms made of wood and natural fibers not only look much nicer than their plastic relatives, they are also much better for our environment. Because we all know where the plastic ends up.

Even dishcloths and cleaning rags don't have to end up in the trash after a few days in use. Cotton rags are easy to wash at 90° in the machine and are like new afterwards.

One of my favorite manufacturers for beautiful household items, dishwashing products and textiles is the Danish company Humdakin.

Humdakin has made it their business to combine appealing design with cleanliness. They've succeeded pretty darn well.
